The Arlington County Police Department’s Homicide/Robbery Unit is investigating the incident, which occurred shortly before 10 p.m. in the 3200 block of 24th Street South.
According to police, the victim, described as a juvenile male in his teens, self-reported to Virginia Hospital Center with a gunshot wound.
His injuries were considered serious but not life-threatening.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the teen was outside when he was approached by two suspects, leading to a physical altercation. During the fight, one of the suspects fired a gun, striking the victim. Both suspects fled the scene before officers arrived, police said.
Authorities have not released descriptions of the suspects, and the investigation remains ongoing.
